1. Technology overview
Traydstream is a trade finance technology company founded in 2016 and headquartered in London, with offices opened since then in India, Pakistan, Japan, the United States and the UAE. It automates trade document checking, the step in which bank operations staff examine documents presented under letters of credit and collections and decide whether discrepancies exist.
The platform digitises scanned and digital documents, extracts structured and unstructured data across more than 800 document types, and validates it against what the company describes as over a quarter of a million trade and compliance rules covering UCP 600 and ISBP, returning a discrepancy report for examiner review. Traydstream reports 99.98 percent discrepancy accuracy, use in over 70 countries and more than USD 350 billion of transactions processed. Deutsche Bank has worked with the company since a 2021 pilot and extended the partnership to integrate the platform into its documentary trade business; Standard Bank Group and Stanbic Bank Uganda are also users. Funding includes a USD 8 million Series A in 2021 and a USD 21 million Series B in 2023.
