1. Technology overview
EM Microelectronic is a semiconductor manufacturer founded in 1975 in Marin, Switzerland, originally created to design ultra-low-power chips for watches and part of The Swatch Group since 1985. It serves electronics makers that need integrated circuits able to run for years on small batteries or harvested energy rather than standard low-power designs.
The company designs and supplies ultra-low-power ICs, sensor interfaces, RFID and EPC/UHF chips, RF communication modules and Bluetooth Low Energy ICs such as the EM9305, together with power management, energy harvesting and custom display driver solutions. Its components are used by automotive, industrial, healthcare, logistics, access control and consumer electronics customers, with design centers in Switzerland, the Czech Republic and the United States supporting custom development through to mass production.
