1. Technology overview
Datasance is an edge computing software company founded in 2021 and based in Istanbul, Turkey. It builds an open-source distributed edge intelligence platform for organizations that need to orchestrate applications and AI workloads across large fleets of edge devices, extending the open-source Eclipse ioFog project into an enterprise-ready product.
Its product, Datasance PoT, provides workload orchestration, a secure service mesh and a distributed messaging bus through a lightweight edgelet runtime under 35 MB that runs on AMD64, ARM64, RISC-V64 and ARM-v7 hardware, including GPUs. Target customers are manufacturers, utility operators, smart-city agencies and mobility providers that need a self-hosted, hardware-agnostic control plane deployable on Kubernetes or bare metal, with air-gapped operation for offline sites.
