1. Technology overview
CUREXO is a medical robot manufacturer founded in 2006 and headquartered in Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It was acquired by Korea Yakult in 2011 and took over the medical robot business division of Hyundai Heavy Industries in 2017, consolidating orthopaedic surgical robotics and gait rehabilitation robotics into one product portfolio sold to hospitals.
The line-up covers CUVIS-joint, an artificial joint surgery robot with a fully automatic bone cutting function for total knee arthroplasty; CUVIS-spine, a spine surgical robot that guides pedicle screw placement; and Morning Walk, a gait rehabilitation robot. CUVIS-joint holds EEA CE marking obtained in March 2021 and Japanese regulatory approval for total knee arthroplasty granted in March 2025. Products are exported to markets including India, Vietnam, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Paraguay.
