1. Technology overview
Tieto Banktech is the financial-services software arm of Finland’s Tieto Corporation, one of the largest IT companies in the Nordics. It supplies mission-critical software and processing services to banks, card issuers and other financial institutions across Europe and beyond, drawing on roughly five decades in the sector.
Its portfolio spans payments (retail payments, liquidity management, e-commerce), cards (issuing, acquiring and processing), financial crime prevention (fraud detection and anti-money-laundering built on shared intelligence, AI and expert analysis), loans and finance (loan origination and servicing, leasing and asset finance), savings and wealth management, and a Banking as a Platform model for institutions that prefer to consume capabilities as services rather than run them in-house. Deployments are typically large, long-lived transformation programmes rather than point tools. The unit was renamed from Tietoevry Banking to Tieto Banktech in November 2025.
