1. Technology overview
KiotViet is a retail management platform operated by Citigo Software, in the market since 2010 and headquartered in Hanoi. Its users are household businesses and micro-retailers, the segment Vietnamese banks find hardest to underwrite because it keeps no formal accounts and little documented income.
More than 300,000 merchants run sales, inventory, staff, accounting and e-invoicing on KiotViet, with about 10,000 new businesses joining each month across retail, food and beverage, hospitality and beauty. KiotViet Finance embeds banking into that daily workflow: QR payment acceptance, bank account opening inside the software, payment notifications posted back to the sales ledger, and unsecured business loans assessed on point-of-sale revenue history instead of income documents — limits up to VND 1 billion, rates from about 1.3% per month, terms up to 60 months and online registration in minutes. Named banking and lending partners include MB, VPBank, VietinBank, BIDV and KBank.
