1. Technology overview
Vayana is an Indian trade credit infrastructure company incorporated in Pune in 2016. It connects corporates, their suppliers and dealers with banks and NBFCs so that MSMEs deep in a supply chain can obtain short-term trade credit priced largely on the anchor buyer’s risk rather than their own, and describes itself as India’s largest supply chain finance platform.
The network digitally authenticates buyer-seller transactions and runs financing programmes: payables programmes (vendor financing, purchase bill discounting, reverse factoring), receivables programmes (dealer financing, receivables financing, factoring, trade receivables securitisation) and post-shipment export finance. For financial institutions it supplies cloud infrastructure — loan origination, transaction platform and limit management. Vayana is also a GST Suvidha Provider, having processed over 11 billion GSP API calls, which ties e-invoicing and tax data to credit decisions. It reports US$62bn+ of financing facilitated, 3,000+ supply chains, 1,500+ corporates, 400,000+ MSMEs, 20+ bank and NBFC partners and 600+ Indian cities, with offices in India, the USA and the UAE.
