1. Technology overview
Sesotec is a foreign body detection and material sorting company founded in 1976 as S+S electronic KG and headquartered in Schonberg, Germany. It addresses contamination in food production lines, such as metal fragments, glass, bone, plastic or rubber that can enter packaged or unpackaged products and go undetected without dedicated inspection equipment.
The company sells metal detectors, magnetic separators and X-ray inspection systems from its RAYCON family for packaged and unpackaged food, alongside sorting equipment originally developed for its plastics and recycling divisions. In 2025 the business opened a new production and logistics facility under its NextLevelFactory programme, and it was recognised with the TOP 100 seal for 2026 as one of Germany’s most innovative mid-sized companies, presenting at trade shows including IFFA 2025 and interpack 2026.
