1. Technology overview
DATRON AG is a German builder of high-speed CNC milling machines, founded in 1969 and based in Muehltal near Ober-Ramstadt, Hesse. The company targets precision parts where conventional heavy machining centres are slow or too coarse: thin-walled aluminium components, electrodes, dental work, engraving and small-diameter features. A North American subsidiary, DATRON USA, was opened in 1996 in Milford, New Hampshire.
The machine range is organised around the Cube series and the compact neo. MXCube covers precision work, M8Cube production milling, MLCube and MLCube Pro large-format parts, and EVO 600 demanding high-precision jobs. Spindles run up to 40,000 and 60,000 rpm and the machines cut with tools down to 0.1 mm diameter. Customers listed by the company include Microsoft, Thermo Fisher, IBM, Ruger and Mayo Clinic; DATRON is exhibiting at IMTS 2026 and has repriced its Cube series.
