1. Technology overview
Malvern Panalytical was formed in 2017 from the merger of Malvern Instruments (Malvern, UK, founded 1971) and PANalytical (Almelo, Netherlands, tracing back to Philips Analytical), and is now a Spectris company. It addresses the need of manufacturers and laboratories to characterize materials during research and quality control.
Its instrument lines cover X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers, particle size and shape analyzers, image analyzers, thermal analyzers, BET surface area analyzers and gas pycnometers. With roughly 2,400 employees and sites in Europe, North America and China, the company serves customers in building materials, mining, pharmaceuticals and metals manufacturing.
