1. Technology overview
SynergyXR ApS is based in Aarhus (Åbyhøj), Denmark, with a US office in Houston. The company traces back to Unity Studios, created in 2008 by founders of Unity Technologies; it moved from games to business XR in 2016, launched the SynergyXR platform in 2020 and took the product name in 2021. It was the first Certified Microsoft Mixed Reality Partner in Europe and addresses the high cost and slow update cycle of developer-built 3D training.
The no-code Immersive Training Platform lets subject-matter experts build 3D training in two to four weeks with the Procedure Builder or by importing Unity environments, then update steps, media and environments themselves. Training runs on tablets, Mac/PC and VR or MR headsets, as guided sessions, self-paced modules or live multi-user collaboration. SCORM and LMS integration, IoT APIs and AR on mobile extend it into existing systems. Customers include Maersk Training, Saint-Gobain Isover, TGS, Grundfos and Baettr.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- No-code Procedure Builder: experts assemble step-by-step 3D procedures from uploaded GLB, FBX, images, documents and video.
- Unity plug-in: existing Unity environments and older VR trainings can be imported and maintained on the platform.
- Any-device delivery: training runs on tablets, Mac/PC, VR and MR headsets, with AR on mobile.
- Multi-user sessions: guided sessions and live collaboration, including shared sessions launched from SCORM packages.
- LMS and multilingual support: SCORM and LMS integration, multi-space training journeys and multilingual content creation.
- IoT and capture integrations: real-time IoT APIs plus 3D scans from Polycam, Luma.ai and Scaniverse via iOS share.
3. Potential application
- Oil and gas and offshore wind operators in Vietnam training crews on offshore procedures and emergency response in VR.
- Manufacturing plants building digital replicas of production lines to onboard operators before start-up.
- Vocational colleges using 3D and VR modules for technical trades when physical equipment is limited.
4. Benefits
- Faster content: experts turn a storyboard and 3D assets into live training in 2-4 weeks instead of months.
- Lower maintenance cost: procedures are updated in minutes without developers, keeping training accurate as processes change.
- Safer practice: teams rehearse high-risk procedures such as offshore operations or lockout-tagout before entering the real environment.
- Reuse of existing hardware: the same training runs on tablets and PCs, with VR added only where it adds value.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Energy, maritime and manufacturing companies face retiring experts and costly downtime when equipment is used for training, so they are moving towards 3D and VR procedures that their own trainers can maintain. Customers that built on earlier mixed reality tools such as HoloLens and Dynamics 365 Guides are also looking for device-agnostic platforms. Vietnam's offshore wind, oil and gas and manufacturing sectors need scalable technical training for new operators.
