1. Technology overview
Codasip is a semiconductor IP company founded in 2014 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, with R&D rooted in RISC-V processor research from Brno University of Technology. It was built to give chipmakers customizable, licensable processor cores and, more recently, to address growing memory-safety vulnerability risk in mission-critical chips.
The company licenses RISC-V processor core IP spanning application, embedded and automotive variants, its CodAL processor description language and Codasip Studio design environment, and its CHERI-based Codasip Prime platform for building cyber-resilient SoCs. In 2026 Codasip divested its lower-end RISC-V core business to concentrate on CHERI-secured processors and SoCs for defense, aerospace, automotive and critical-infrastructure customers.
