1. Technology overview
CollectiveCrunch is a Finnish forest data company headquartered in Helsinki and founded in 2016, with additional offices in Germany. Traditional forest inventory relies on field sampling that is slow, costly and hard to repeat across large estates, which leaves forest owners and wood buyers planning harvests on outdated stand data.
The company sells the LINDA product suite, a set of AI models that read country-specific LiDAR and satellite data and return stand-level estimates without any additional field sampling. LINDA Inventory produces operational yield figures for large forest areas; LINDA Bark Beetle detects infestation; LINDA Storm Damage identifies wind-thrown stands from satellite imagery and won the EUSPA CASSINI Challenge in 2026; LINDA Biodiversity indexes ecological condition; and LINDA Scout supports land and timber purchase decisions. Results are delivered as map layers and integrate with forest management systems such as ForestKIT and LVM GEO, or through WMS APIs. Customers include large Nordic forest organisations such as Metsa Group, Metsahallitus and Sveaskog.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
1. LINDA Inventory: AI-derived operational yield and stand attributes for large forest areas, with no additional field sampling required.
2. LINDA Bark Beetle: detection of bark beetle infestation across managed forest so salvage cutting can be planned early.
3. LINDA Storm Damage: satellite-based detection of wind-thrown stands, winner of the EUSPA CASSINI Challenge 2026.
4. LINDA Biodiversity: ecological condition indexing that supports reporting on forest health alongside timber metrics.
5. LINDA Scout: property-level assessment for land and standing timber purchase decisions.
6. Integration: outputs are consumed through ForestKIT, LVM GEO and WMS APIs, with reported prediction accuracy of about 90 percent.
