1. Technology overview
EMIC, the Electric Measuring Instrument Joint Stock Company, traces its origin to the electric measuring instrument factory established on 1 April 1983 in Hanoi under a decision of the Ministry of Heavy Industry, the first domestic enterprise created for this task. The company manufactures electricity metering and instrument transformer products for power utilities and industrial users in Vietnam and operates its own verification and testing systems for the devices it makes.
The catalogue covers single-phase and three-phase mechanical meters, single-phase and three-phase electronic meters in single-tariff and multi-tariff versions, medium-voltage current transformers in oil-immersed and indoor or outdoor epoxy-cast form, low-voltage current transformers, voltage transformers, combined instrument transformers, low-power current and voltage transformers, cold water meters, communication devices for remote reading, volt-ampere meters and protection devices. In September 2025 the company reported the deployment of a GELEX Electric AMI smart electronic metering system at Tay Ninh Power Company under Southern Power Corporation.
