1. Technology overview
Finix was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Chicago, Orlando and Toronto. It sells payment infrastructure to software platforms, marketplaces and payment facilitators. The premise is that a vertical SaaS company can start by embedding card acceptance on Finix, then move to onboarding and settling its own sub-merchants, and finally run as a full payment facilitator, all on one stack, instead of rebuilding a payments business or spreading it across several vendors.
A single API and dashboard cover merchant underwriting and onboarding, card and ACH acceptance, payouts to bank accounts and cards, recurring billing, dispute management, reconciliation and reporting, with fraud and compliance tooling through partners such as Sift and Plaid. Named platform customers include Cargas, foreUP, AgVend, Lunchbox, Clubessential, Passport, Beyond and Meadow, and in 2026 Finix announced partnerships with the field-service platform Contractor Plus and with Change for embedded payouts. The company raised a USD 75 million Series C in 2024 led by Acrew Capital.
