1. Technology overview
FourJaw Manufacturing Analytics is a UK company founded in 2020 as a spinout from the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, headquartered in Sheffield. It was built for manufacturers that lack visibility into real machine utilisation, relying instead on manual logs or outdated hardwired monitoring systems.
Its plug-and-play platform pairs the MachineLink IoT sensor with cloud analytics to track machine utilisation, downtime causes, energy use and OEE in real time, combining sensor data with operator input via shop-floor tablets. Serving more than 150 manufacturers across aerospace, automotive, food and medical device production, over half of its customers are SME manufacturers and more than 10% report annual turnover above £1 billion.
