1. Technology overview
Innovasea is an aquaculture and fish-tracking technology company formed in 2015 in Boston, Massachusetts, through the merger of OceanSpar LLC and Ocean Farm Technologies. It serves fish farmers and researchers who need reliable equipment and data to run recirculating and open-water operations without losing fish to poor water quality or predators.
Its aquaculture division supplies submersible net pens, waterborne feeding systems and recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) technology, tied together by the Realfish Pro cloud platform, which combines data from environmental sensors and cameras for remote monitoring. Its fish-tracking division builds the NexTrak acoustic telemetry system, receivers, tags and Fathom software used by researchers to track aquatic animals. The company reports more than 250 employees with operations in Norway, Chile and the Mediterranean.
