1. Technology overview
Lentra is an Indian lending technology vendor headquartered in Pune, founded in 2019, that licenses a cloud-native platform to banks and NBFCs. It targets the difficulty traditional lenders have in launching or changing SME credit products, where core-tied systems turn every new product into a long IT project and manual underwriting slows decisions.
The platform is modular and API-driven: GoNoGo handles loan origination, 1LMS handles loan management and servicing, and a decisioning layer runs bureau, bank statement and alternative data checks. Lentra states it returns end-to-end decisions in about ten seconds with over 90% straight-through processing. Prebuilt journeys cover business loans, working capital and overdraft, equipment finance and dealer onboarding. Clients include HDFC Bank, IDFC, Standard Chartered Bank, TVS Credit, HDB Financial Services and Avanse. Lentra raised a $60m Series B led by Bessemer Venture Partners and SIG with Citi Ventures participating, and has targeted expansion into Vietnam and the Philippines.
