1. Technology overview
LiqTech International is a Danish advanced-materials company founded in 2000 and headquartered in Ballerup, Denmark, developing silicon-carbide ceramic membranes to remove suspended solids and oil from demanding industrial liquid streams that conventional polymer filters cannot handle.
Its membranes are manufactured as honeycomb-monolith elements with a silicon-carbide layer slip-cast onto a ceramic carrier and sintered for hardness and chemical resistance; the filters operate across a pH range of 0 to 14 and withstand temperatures up to 800 degrees Celsius, and LiqTech supplies steel producers, oil and gas operators, and marine and municipal wastewater customers with filtration systems and diesel-particulate filters.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
1. Silicon-carbide membrane: sintered SiC layer resists chemicals across pH 0 to 14.
2. Honeycomb monolith design: parallel channels maximize filtration area per element.
3. High thermal tolerance: membranes withstand operating temperatures up to 800 degrees Celsius.
4. Industrial wastewater use: deployed for steel-mill and oil-and-gas produced-water treatment.
5. Marine and municipal filtration: supports ballast and wastewater treatment systems.
6. Diesel particulate filters: SiC-based filters also control soot emissions from diesel engines.
