1. Technology overview
NymCard is a payments infrastructure provider founded in 2018 by Omar Onsi and Ayman Chalhoub, headquartered in Dubai with an office in London. It builds card issuing and embedded finance infrastructure for the MENA region, where banks and fintechs historically had to source issuing, lending and settlement from separate vendors or from legacy processors with long integration cycles. NymCard is a licensed entity under the Central Bank of the UAE and a principal member of Visa and Mastercard.
Its nCore platform combines card issuing processing for prepaid, debit, credit, virtual and tokenised cards; embedded lending for instalment and revolving credit; cross-border money movement and stablecoin settlement; financial crime and fraud monitoring; and automated reconciliation, on a single data model. It operates across more than ten MENA markets, serving retail and commercial banks, fintechs, exchange houses, telecoms and government entities, with clients including EDB Bank, Byblos Bank and Faisal Islamic Bank. NymCard raised a USD 33 million Series B led by QED Investors in March 2025.
