1. Technology overview
OnRobot is a Danish robotics automation company headquartered in Odense, founded in 2018 through the merger of three end-of-arm tooling specialists (On Robot, OptoForce and Perception Robotics). The company addresses the difficulty manufacturers face when deploying collaborative and industrial robots for varied material-handling tasks, where a single fixed gripper cannot cover a changing product mix on the factory floor.
OnRobot builds a modular line of grippers, force/torque sensors and end-of-arm tools that attach to robot arms from multiple brands through a common quick-changer interface, plus the D:PLOY software layer that configures palletizing, machine tending and packaging applications without manual robot programming. Customers are manufacturers and system integrators in electronics, food, automotive and consumer goods who need to redeploy the same robot across several tasks.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
1. Modular grippers: finger, vacuum, magnetic and soft grippers cover different part shapes and materials.
2. Force/torque sensing: 6-axis sensors enable delicate assembly, polishing and quality-check tasks.
3. Quick-change interface: tools swap in seconds across robot brands without rewiring.
4. D:PLOY software: no-code setup for palletizing, transferring and machine tending.
5. Brand-agnostic compatibility: works with collaborative and industrial robot arms from multiple manufacturers.
6. Global distribution: sold through a network of more than 700 partners in over 40 countries.
