1. Technology overview
Posh is a conversational AI vendor founded in 2018 by Karan Kashyap and Matt McEachern out of MIT and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. It sells only to financial institutions — banks, credit unions and collections teams — automating the routine call and chat volume that would otherwise reach branch and contact-centre staff.
The range splits into customer-facing and employee-facing modules. Voice Assistant handles calls on balances, payments and transfers; Digital Assistant covers web and mobile chat; Posh Answers serves website search; Posh Outreach, introduced in April 2026, starts proactive outbound conversations; Posh Translate extends language coverage. For staff there are Knowledge Assistant, Posh Simulator for training and CoachQA for call quality review, all administered from the Posh Portal. Posh reports more than 100 financial institutions as customers, including Citadel Credit Union, Camden National Bank, Hudson Valley Credit Union, Ion Bank and VyStar Credit Union, and raised a 27.5 million USD Series A in 2021.
