1. Technology overview
Trade Ledger is a UK-headquartered technology company, founded in Sydney in 2016, that builds a digital business-credit management platform for banks and non-bank lenders. It targets a structural problem in SME and commercial lending: origination and servicing that rely on manual document collection, static financial statements and disconnected systems, which make working capital credit slow and expensive to underwrite.
The platform ingests data from accounting systems, ERPs, invoices, bank feeds and credit bureaux through APIs and an event-driven architecture, then applies automated workflows and proprietary data models to onboarding, credit decisioning, limit setting, drawdown and portfolio monitoring. Its composable design lets a lender deploy individual modules alongside existing core banking rather than replace it, supporting multi-product facilities spanning receivables finance, invoice finance, asset-based lending and term loans. United Fintech acquired the company in November 2025; it continues to trade under the Trade Ledger brand.
