1. Technology overview
Weld is a data integration company founded in 2021 and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, by former Pleo data engineers Jonas Thordal and Kristian Barrett. It was built to give small and mid-sized data teams a single tool for moving data in and out of a warehouse without stitching together multiple point solutions.
The platform extracts data from more than 300 sources, including Shopify, Salesforce, HubSpot and operational databases via change data capture, loads it into warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift and Databricks, and lets teams transform it with an integrated dbt workspace. A reverse ETL module syncs cleaned data back into CRM and advertising platforms; customers such as Holafly, Flatpay and Dishoom use it to keep analytics and operational systems in sync.
