1. Technology overview
Treasury Prime is a US embedded banking software company founded in 2017 by Chris Dean and Jim Brusstar and run remotely across the United States and Canada. It addresses the problem banks face when they want to serve fintech and enterprise clients without building API infrastructure themselves, and the problem fintechs face in finding a chartered deposit partner. Its model is bank-direct: the bank keeps the customer relationship instead of a middleware vendor sitting between them.
The platform has four modules – Digital Experiences, Accounts with an integrated sub-ledger, Payments across ACH, wire and real-time rails, and Compliance – plus a marketplace of more than 20 partner providers for KYC and account funding. The Bank Network passed 20 institutions in January 2026 with i3 Bank and Coastal; named institutions include KeyBank, LendingClub, Grasshopper, Bangor Savings Bank and Academy Bank. In June 2026 it launched Prime Cash on Green Dot’s money processing network, allowing cash deposits at more than 90,000 retail locations. Programmes on the platform report over 2.5 million active accounts and $10 billion in new deposits.
