1. Technology overview
Treezor is a French Banking-as-a-Service platform founded in Paris in 2016 by Eric Lassus and Xavier Labouret, and acquired by Societe Generale in 2019. It is a regulated institution supervised by the ACPR with licences passported across Europe, which lets fintechs, software vendors and corporates issue accounts and cards under their own brand. In January 2026 Societe Generale entered exclusive talks to sell Treezor to the fintech Shares; the business continues to trade under the Treezor brand.
The platform covers the whole payment chain through APIs: account and e-wallet management, SEPA credit transfers and direct debits, card issuing and processing under a Mastercard partnership, acquiring, KYC verification and credit services, packaged as BaaS, Card-as-a-Service and a core banking PaaS. Treezor reports more than 150 clients, over 250 employees, more than 8 million cards issued and over EUR 130 billion in processed transaction flows; referenced customers include Qonto, Swile, Lydia and Coinhouse.
