1. Technology overview
ListenField is an agtech startup created by academic researchers, operating through ListenField Inc. in Nagoya, Japan and ListenField Co., Ltd. in Bangkok, Thailand. It gathers, processes and analyzes multilayer agricultural data so that agri-food companies, breeders and farmers can make better decisions; the company reports activity in 5 countries with 30,000 farmers and 20 agri-food companies.
The FarmAI Dashboard is a web SaaS for monitoring dozens to thousands of fields remotely. It fuses field sensors, soil scanning, weather data, seasonal forecasts, satellite imagery and farm logs from the FarmAI mobile app into one analytics engine exposed through an API. Modules cover yield prediction, crop health monitoring with machine vision on satellite images, soil nutrition via near-infrared spectroscopy (developed with AgroCares), and data-driven breeding with genomic selection and GWAS.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Yield prediction: forecasts growth and yield from soil, climate and cultivar coefficients.
- Crop health monitoring: detects nitrogen stress, water stress and lodging risk from satellite imagery.
- Soil nutrition analysis: NIR spectroscopy soil testing with results shown on the dashboard.
- Field-level weather: combines up to 30 years of historical weather with onsite sensors.
- Farm activity log: imports field activities recorded by farmers in the FarmAI mobile app.
- AgroAPI and add-ons: API access, traceability, machine linkage and 3.5 m daily NDVI imagery.
3. Potential application
- Rice, coffee or sugarcane processors in Vietnam monitoring contract-farming areas and forecasting harvest volumes.
- Fertilizer and seed companies offering rapid soil analysis and fertilization advice to dealers and farmers in the Mekong Delta.
- Seed breeders and agricultural institutes using genomic selection tools to shorten breeding cycles.
4. Benefits
- Remote oversight of many fields and contract farmers, with the vendor reporting 15% fewer field visits and a 20% efficiency gain in field investigation.
- Yield forecasts that the vendor states are 25% more accurate, supporting procurement and supply planning.
- Rapid NIR soil analysis that guides fertilizer decisions without slow laboratory testing.
- Traceability and sustainable-practice data that support audits and certifications.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Agri-food companies in Southeast Asia increasingly source from large networks of smallholders and need field-level data for yield forecasting, input optimization and sustainability reporting. Satellite analytics, low-cost soil testing and digital farm records are becoming standard tools, and regional programs in the Mekong region are promoting digital agriculture for smallholders.
6. Other information
Offices in Nagoya, Japan and Bangkok, Thailand. NIR soil analysis developed with AgroCares has been available in Thailand and Vietnam since 2022.
