Alaan

Alaan is a corporate card and spend management company founded in 2022 by Karun Kurien and Parthi Duraisamy, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates and operating in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It serves finance teams in a market where company expenses are still commonly settled on a manager’s personal card against paper receipts. Alaan states that it is a financial technology company and not a bank, and issues cards through licensed partners.

The core product, SuperCard, is a Visa corporate card issued in the UAE by NymCard Payments Services LLC, with per-card limits, category rules and instant freeze. Around it sit an AI-native business account provided with Ruya Community Islamic Bank, authorised by the Central Bank of the UAE; SuperPay for international invoice payments; and Alaan Intelligence, which reads receipts and drafts expense reports. Accounting automation syncs to Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Dynamics 365, Odoo, SAP and Zoho Books. The platform is PCI DSS compliant, reports more than 3,000 business customers and a team of over 200, and raised a 48 million USD Series A led by Peak XV Partners.
